India & Japan – Asia's New Strategic Partnership

The Japanese Prime Minster, Mr. Shinzo Abe will be in India as the Chief Guest at the Republic Day Parade. This is the first time a Japanese PM will attend in this capacity. This follows a recent and rare visit by the Japanese Emperor and Empress to India in late 2013. The presence of Prime Minster Abe as the Chief Guest sends a strong signal that economic, defense and diplomatic ties between the two countries are going to further strengthen.

We have been witnessing a steady growth in economic relations between India and Japan. FDI in India has increased from Japan over the last few years and our view is that this trend will continue. Japanese banks are financing large infrastructure and other ambitious projects such as the Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor.

We at NDA have been closely following the growing economic partnership between the two countries and have published a few articles in 2013 on it.

We are excited to share these articles with you and look forward to your views on where you think the India-Japan story is headed and the impact it could have on the global economy.

These articles were published in leading domestic and international newspapers and can be accessed from below links.
