Regulatory HotlineJune 27, 2018 Tech-ing on corruptionThis article was originally published in the 25th June 2018 edition of This article discusses usage of technology to root out corruption. Usage of electronic interface and eliminating discretionary powers of individuals would help in ensuring that processes are transparent and users of the system have assurance about delivery of service by government. This example can also be applied in the context of more complex transactions like grant of government contracts and government approvals where use of technology and elimination of human interface should help minimize possibilities of individuals taking advantage of their power. Government of India and State Governments have already started such processes – it needs to be replicated across more services and decision making platforms of government.
