Revolutionising the Power Sector

The performance of the power sector demonstrates a sound and resilient economy. While the power sector continues to play an integral part in the Indian economy, it is plagued with various issues such as high power generation costs, poor financial health of Distribution Companies, massive Aggregate Transmission and Commercial losses and associated operational efficiencies. The Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme along with the National Smart Grid Mission aims to address the above issues through the acceleration of smart grid development and installation of Smart Meters. The Indian Government has an ambitious project of rolling out 250 million Smart Meters in India by 2025.
