The Foreign Portfolio Investor (“FPI”) regime in India has undergone significant changes in recent years, with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (“SEBI”) introducing various policy updates. Yesterday, i.e., on September 24, SEBI released a consultation paper proposing a simplified registration process for FPIs, inviting public comments (“Consultation Paper”). The Consultation Paper, inter alia, proposes to revise the common application form (“CAF”) for certain categories of FPI applicants.
This webinar will discuss the current FPI registration framework and the key proposals under the Consultation Paper, including their possible impact on the FPI registration process.
