With over 200 burgeoning space startups and a record-breaking USD 124.7 million investment secured in 2023, the Indian government has recognized the immense potential of this industry. In light of the growth trajectory, the government has been actively pursuing the privatization of this traditionally highly regulated sector.

This webinar will delve into the recent amendments to the Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) Policy, announced on March 5, 2024. These amendments represent a significant step towards liberalizing foreign investment in the Indian space sector.

Abhishek is the Founder & Managing Director of SatSure AG since 2018. Prior to that, he served as the Director of SatSure Limited starting from 2015. In 2020, he became a Board Member of CI - Contextual Intelligence AG. Abhishek also served as the Managing Director of DI - Invest Holding GmbH from 2018 onwards. Abhishek has an exceptional experience of work in the space sector in India.

 

Raghav Handa Director HSBC India, Central Management Office Strategic Business Development and Govt. Affairs

Raghav is a corporate banker with over 16 years of experience in the industry. He is currently a senior member of the CEO’s office and responsible for strategic business initiatives, government affairs and public policy advocacy. Raghav is an MBA in Finance and Marketing and holds a diploma in corporate laws for mergers and acquisitions from the Indian Law Institute (under the aegis of the Supreme Court of India).

 

Huzefa Tavawalla Head: Bangalore Office & Disruptive Technologies Practice Group Nishith Desai Associates

Huzefa heads the Bangalore office and is a technology enthusiast. He has worked on several matters relating to Drones, RPAS, Artificial Intelligence, Driverless Cars, AR/VR etc. He was also appointed as a task force committee member set up by the Indian Government to establish the legislative drone road map for India. Huzefa has also been at the forefront of outbound and global M&As in particular project management for large cross border acquisitions. Further, he continues to advise on several cutting edge, complex and cross-border TMT matters.

Ayushi is an eight-year corporate lawyer with particular expertise in cross-border M&A transactions, Space Law & commercial contracts.
