Aricent acquires Smartplay

Aricent recently completed a 100% acquisition of semiconductor engineering services company, Smartplay.

Aricent is the world’s #1 pure-play product engineering services firm. Aricent has 20-plus years experience co-creating ambitious products with the top networking, telecom, software, semiconductor, Internet and industrial companies. Smartplay is engaged in the business of providing services in the semiconductor, embedded software, and system design segments and provides pre-silicon, digital and analog chip design services. Smartplay has a significant global presence in the semiconductor services segment, with more than 1,200 employees worldwide, and was ranked as the 2nd largest VLSI design services company in India in 2012. The acquisition establishes Aricent as the #1 product engineering services firm in the semiconductor market, with more than 2,000 combined experts and relationships with 17 of the top 20 semiconductor companies. .
